Scrabbaloop
Exercise your vocabulary with Scrabbaloop. It's a bit like Scrabble, but there's no tile limit, no turns, and an infinite global shared hex board. Oh, and you only score if your word makes a loop with previously added words. Also, just like in regular Scrabble, you have to have at least one overlapping letter tile on the board.
Add a word just by typing it in and placing it on the grid. Beware that any other words made must also be valid. Finally, if you and somebody else try to claim the same tiles, the first to place their word wins, the second gets rejected.
Add your name if you want to be on the leaderboard (sorry, didn't quite get to this, although if you're keen you can see the json feed here).
Bad language and unpleasant names will be removed. No exceptions or protests!
Words are checked against the sowpods dictionary. All entries are validated before they are accepted. You only score for newly completed loops. Words must be at least 3 letters. Two letter words and loops are ignored.
- Drag the grid to scroll.
- Mouse wheen to zoom.
- Type to enter a word.
- Drag from the word to place it on the grid.
- Right-click while dragging to change the word direction.
When you release, if you have made an invalid word it should show you with red outlines.
Best played FULLSCREEN!
Built entirely by me, Chris Underwood (Deeperbeige or CMU online). I lost about a day of this jam to life-events, but managed to build the majority of this from scratch. I'm recovering from a brain tumour, if you're interested in more details of that, see the credits in my free VR game Hanna in a Choppa 3. For other games, see my website at deeperbeige.com. If you like word games and have a VR headset, check out Arthur Owl's Word Block. It's free on Quest, Rift and Steam.
This is a 5:45pm final build. It stil has many many many bugs and lots of missing features.

fairly easy to find some infinite loops with short palindromic words such as zzz

(also you do not need to have any overlapping tiles in regular scrabble, you can play parallel to other words, the word detection seems to not take this into account)
I saw your exploit! I had intended to disallow repeated words anywhere in the game, but didn't have time to implement it.
Yes, you're also right about parallel words in regular Scrabble, but this isn't regular Scrabble. Words of length 2 are ignored anyway.
Thanks for playing for so long by the way. You discovered a bug I wasn't aware of where if you scroll far enough, the background tiling stops repeating!
I just wish I had enough time to polish this properly and get it finished. Ah well, too big and too complex for one person to build in a few days.
